The nominations for the 95th annual Academy Awards were announced Tuesday morning, and it looks like a multiverse-set genre comedy-drama is the favorite to win big at March’s Academy Awards ceremony.
“Everything Everywhere All At Once” dominated the nominations in the major categories, appearing in the fields of Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Original Screenplay.
“The Banshees of Inisherin” and “The Fabelmans” were also among the nomination leaders. “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Avatar: The Way of Water,” the big box office hits set for release in 2022, were also nominated for best picture.
The Oscar ceremony will be held on March 12 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles with Jimmy Kimmel as host and will be broadcast live on ABC. This year’s ceremony is sure to get more attention after Will Smith punched Chris Rock during last year’s show.
