Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans and dark comedy The Banshees of Inisherin both took home the top film awards at the Golden Globes as Hollywood returned to a show that had been shut off TV by scandal.

The Fabelmans, a coming-of-age story based on Spielberg’s teenage years, was named best drama film, while Banshees of Inisherin, the story of best friends on an Irish island, won the best motion picture musical or comedy.

The awards are likely to give both films a boost heading into the Academy Awards in March.
