Australia’s Director of Strategic Analysis, Michael Shoebridge, says the Americans are not “making as many nuclear submarines as they need”.
“They want to do two a year. They do about 1.2 a year,” Sky News presenter James Morrow said.
“AUKUS is not Australia getting a free ride to America. So what we need to do is increase their ability to manufacture submarines and make them available in the water.
“If it looks like we’re trying to get a free ride, we’re not going to get early subs.”
