BMW presents the “digital car of the future” that changes color: the i Vision Dee

BMW has revealed its new concept car and Vision Dee which they have described as “the future digital experience, both inside and outside the vehicle”. The futuristic vehicle was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on January 4, 2022. While it features all sorts of digital innovations, its showpiece is its revolutionary E-Ink technology that allows have the car change its exterior to 32. different colors in a myriad of patterns. E Ink technology was first introduced in black and white in the BMW iX Flow Featuring E Ink at CES 2022, but the i Vision Dee now has a full color palette. The car also aims to use digital technology to “transform the car into an intelligent companion”. A projection across the width of the windscreen allows information to be displayed on the largest possible surface while the digital experience already begins outside of the vehicle, with a personalized welcome that combines graphic elements, light and sound effects.The i Vision Dee can also talk to the driver and others and express moods such as joy, surprise or approval visually .The Dee is a concept car, but it is meant to tease BMW’s next-generation Neue Klasse platform, which will launch in 2025 starting with a dynamic sedan and a sports activity vehicle.
