Cassidy McGill apologizes to fans after being photographed wearing white powder

The Australian reality star turned influencer who was photographed holding a plate of white powder last week has issued an apology to her followers on social media.

Australia’s Love Island’s Cassidy McGill posted and then quickly deleted the photo in question on her Instagram stories last Wednesday night. It was then widely shared online.

In the image, McGill, who appeared on the first season of the popular dating show, could be seen sitting on the floor in blue jeans, with a white plate on her knee.

Two lines of white powder were clearly visible on the plate, next to a small bag containing more of the same mysterious substance.

“Oops see you tomorrow,” she captioned the image before quickly deleting it.

Some questioned whether McGill’s recent paid partnerships with Bondi Sands and Amazon Prime would be affected. The influencer addressed those brand deals in her apology, published Tuesday.

“This past week I have been taking time to reflect on my actions,” McGill wrote.

“I was wrong, I don’t take myself lightly. This behavior is not personal and I am sorry to have let you all down. I feel sorry for my friends, my family and my team and the brands I represent.

“I hope that in time I can regain your trust and respect. Thanks to those of you who reached out. Love, Cass.”
