I was thrilled to read that Burkeman was, initially, a little like me. He liked a list, he liked making plans, he liked structure. But since the plans never quite worked out, he came to understand that the answer lay in embracing, not so much the chaos, but the idea that there will always be something to do and you don’t have to feel guilty about not doing- everything, because that in itself is impossible. In fact, doing things leads to more things to do.
