The ‘advent calendar’ of physical activity helps to reduce sedentary behavior

A pilot study published by the British Medical Journal (BMJ) found that a Christmas-themed physical activity intervention during Advent shows promise in increasing physical activity and reducing sedentary time among inactive adults. Participants enjoyed a ‘Christmas delivery’ walk and dancing to Christmas carols, showing that people would appreciate public health campaigns to help them be more physically active.
