
A flurry of galas ended the year. Creative Time held its first gala in three years in December. 7 at Powerhouse Arts, a former power plant along the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn that has been transformed into a nonprofit art space. Guests, many dressed by Loewe, marveled at the elegant complex once known to graffiti artists as the Batcave.
The Museum of Modern Art honored Guillermo Del Toro at its 15th annual film benefit in December. 8 sponsored by Chanel. Before dinner, Jessica Chastain, ChloĆ« Sevigny, Ariana DeBose and others got a first look at an exhibit about the making of “Pinocchio.”
Also that evening, the Metropolitan Museum of Art held a black-tie gala celebrating the year’s gifts and acquisitions. The gala committee included the city’s philanthropic elite, including the Lauders, Santo Domingos and Tang.
