A mother has been criticized for cutting off her daughter’s pajamas in the middle of the night and blaming it on an elf.
McKenzie Taylor from the UK was taking part in Elf on the Shelf with her son, which is a game where parents hide an elf figurine in various positions around the house before Christmas.
The mum has been documenting what she’s making the elf do in a number of videos, but it was her latest clip that has angered many online users.
In it she showed her daughter asleep while making holes in her pyjamas.
The mother had to make two attempts when her daughter woke up in the middle of the whole ordeal.
He then blamed the elf, with his daughter incredibly upset that her pajamas had been destroyed.
Some saw the humor in the clip, but others criticized the mother for her actions.
“Somebody rescue this kid,” commented one user.
Another said: “Poor girl is going through it.”
“Not because I cry if someone cuts my pajamas,” said another, condemning the act.
“Too far – the girl will be scared of the elf,” added one commenter, while another said this would be the girl’s villain origin story.
Some said they were inspired by the clip and had done the same with their son.
“KEEP MAKING MORE OF THESE!! OMG I CAN’T STOP LAUGHING AT YOUR REACTIONS,” said one excited fan.
Another simply said: “Doing this to my kids.”
